Wastewater servicing at Windsor Road

28 November 2024 update

We have reported an unexpected constraint with our existing wastewater rising main at Windsor Road in Vineyard. The issue is temporarily affecting our sewage pumping station (SPS1154), preventing new developments in the area from connecting to our wastewater network. We expect to complete an interim wastewater servicing solution by March 2025.

Interim solution and what to expect

The areas temporarily affected by repairs are parts of Alex Avenue, Box Hill, Box Hill Industrial, Riverstone, Riverstone East, The Ponds and Vineyard Stage 1.

Interim solution by March 2025

The interim wastewater servicing solution that we expect to complete by March 2025 will allow new developments to connect to the network and minimise the impact on developers and council housing targets.

What to expect

Council Development Application (DA) referrals will progress as usual. Developers can continue their work on-site, and we will be able to issue Section 73 Compliance Certificates to new developments within the area once the interim solution is in place. If your development is within the affected areas and has already been issued a Section 73 Compliance Certificate, your development can connect as planned.

If your development is within the affected areas and you have not yet lodged a Section 73 Compliance Certificate application with us, please proceed as normal.

Keeping stakeholders informed

We have shared the interim and long-term solutions with:

  • The Hills Shire, Blacktown City and Hawkesbury Shire councils
  • Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI)
  • Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA)
  • Urban Taskforce
  • Property Council.

We're also communicating with affected developers and their water servicing coordinators. We will continue working with them to minimise any impacts on developments.
