We need best-in-class infrastructure professionals to deliver a once-in-a-generation program. This is an opportunity to drive the investments that will ensure a more sustainable, liveable, climate-resilient city built on circular economy principles.
Sydney Water is Australia’s largest water utility, providing water, wastewater, recycled water and some stormwater services to 5,300,000 people. By 2050, Sydney Water will service another 2,000,000 people. To enable this growth, in an integrated and sustainable way, Sydney Water will invest $34 billion over the next 10 years to renew existing assets, deliver new investments in water supply, recycled water, stormwater and waterway management, and renewable sources of energy while ensuring system resilience to shocks and stressors.
To deliver this significant increase in investment, we need more infrastructure professionals (or those with the skills and aptitude to become one!) to join our talented, passionate and values-oriented team. If that sounds like you, we’d love to receive your Expression of Interest. We pride ourselves on our dynamic culture which we enable by offering flexible working arrangements, industry exposure and opportunities for career progression. “I’ve worked at Sydney Water for over five years across three different areas of the business: customer service, business development and now community and stakeholder engagement.
What I love about community engagement is that you work with so many different stakeholders; there is always an opportunity to learn and develop. One day I might be working with our team of experts on how to mitigate the environmental impact of our projects and the next I will be working with engineers learning how a pump station works or why it has to be located in a specific location, so I can effectively communicate that information to our customers and communities. The engagement team is the face of Sydney Water and our customers come to us for answers. The best thing about my job is being able to convey to our customers how the large-scale projects we are delivering will make a difference to their community now and for future generations.”

"My Sydney Water journey started in 2021 as a graduate Procurement Analyst. In 2022 I won a role as an Analyst and since then have moved into a new role as a Category Specialist. My role involves managing the addressable corporate services spend and running procurement activities like marketing activities and health services on behalf of our stakeholders.
Creating better and simpler ways of doing things is at the heart of what I try to do at Sydney Water. In my role as a Category Specialist, I have initiated new software projects that help with the tracking of procurement activities leading to significant data and process improvements. I believe having this mindset has created many opportunities for myself.
The people I work with every day is what makes Sydney Water special to me. Fostering a sense of collaboration and achievement with my peers make my role extremely rewarding."
