When you are building or renovating you may need information and/or approvals from Sydney Water. This may include the approvals outlined below or a Section 73 Compliance Certificate.
You need to submit your building plans to us so we can check there will be no impact on our pipes. This is done through a Quick Check agent. If there is no impact (most cases) approval can be given on the spot.
If the Quick Check Agent determines that your building will be close to or over our pipes/structures you will be advised to engage the services of a Water Servicing Coordinator.

From 1 July 2003, Sydney Water has opened up a range of water and sewerage services to competition with the private sector.
This means you now have the convenience of choosing either Sydney Water or an accredited external supplier to do certain types of work on connections to the water and sewerage systems.
This change gives you the flexibility to choose your service provider on the basis of what is important to you, be it price or delivery time.
Of course if you choose Sydney Water to carry out your work, you can be assured that our team will provide you with a high quality, reliable service at a competitive price.
